The Carl Sherman Jr. Story: Show Notes
Carl Sherman Jr. is an American Politician, businessman and son of Carl Sherman Sr, who is the former Mayor of Desoto, TX. Desoto is a suburb of Dallas, TX and one of the country’s few affluent Black communities. Mr. Sherman Jr. formerly served two terms on the Desoto Board of Education where he also served as its President.
During our conversation we discuss his upbringing in Texas, starting a family at the age of 20 and what led him to initially get involved in politics. We share a fondness for the legacy of Stokely Carmichael. He also shares his insights on what is happening locally in Desoto and nationally for the Black community as it relates to economic independence, two-party politics and having our own agency to improve outcomes for the Black community.
